RODGERS CARAF, “A dog is the only thing on the earth that loves you more than you love yourself.”

So don’t they deserve a yummy treat in return? A gift in return that’s both delicious and healthy for your dear companion. What do you think of making something out of rolled oatmeals? It will have a pretty good effect not only on your pet’s tummy but also on your pocket. Before sharing some amazing oat, meal recipes let me clear some of the concerns of people regarding oatmeal given as a treat to their pets

WHY OATMEAL?

  • Well, why not? Oats are one of the healthiest meals both for humans and animals. They contain an ample amount of proteins, mainly plant base. An ideal body weighing dog requires 1 gram of protein per pound, which could be fulfilled by any of the recipes that contain oats in it.
  • Secondly, it contains an abundant amount, of fiber which improves the dog’s digestive system and solves any issue of your dog-related to digestion.
  • In addition to that, it is a high alternative carbohydrate for dogs that cannot tolerate wheat or grains. It also contains vitamin B that is efficacious to keep a dog’s skin healthy and firm. It is a treat containing the countless amount of minerals and vitamins.

The presence of oats in your dog’s diets will show a significant effect on your dog’s health.

Despite its significance as food oat rich products, for example, Burt’s Bee is an oatmeal shampoo for dogs that have been tested by many people, and they claim it to be best one among others in giving their pets smooth and firm hairs and skin as it contains linoleic acid

Oats are the kind of diet that is heavy, so dogs consume less of it, which may prove useful for you if it’s overweighed; thus, it will ultimately lose weight. It is a perfect way of fulfilling the needed amount of water in your pet by mixing oats in water, and in addition to that, oats play a vital role in increasing the number of red blood cells in dogs.

Another significant advantage of making “homemade” treats using rolled oats is that the treat would be completely reliable and safe for your pet as it’s made under supervision using healthy ingredients only.

On the other hand, some people have claimed that as it is a heavy diet, it may upset their digestive system, so a very convenient way to avoid it is to cook the oats before giving it to your puppy, so it is easy to digest. Moreover, avoid adding milk as it makes it even heavier instead try water which is much gentle to your puppy’s tummy

What is the correct way of feeding a dog with oat?

First of all, keeping in mind about your dog’s physic, age and weight start with a smaller portion to see whether it suits it or not, then gradually increase the amount according to its diet, and need.

Secondly, cook the oats partially so it may not lose all its beneficial nutrients due to high heat but do not feed them raw because it may be difficult to digest as mentioned earlier

Discuss the meal with your vet so he could suggest the accurate way and amount of oats to be fed just according to your dog’s need.

Last but not the least precaution is too immediately stop feeding your pet oat if it shows any adverse reaction such as diarrhea

Now to the primary purpose, how to make homemade treats using roll oats

Moving on to the next recipe how about making “Berry egg oatmeal” it is a meal that comprises of both fiber and protein that are equally necessary for your furry

friends

So for it, the ingredients are:

This treat contains nothing that may harm your dog but does not feed it if it does not suit him.

How many oatmeal feed a dog?

There is no harm of feeding your dog a small protein of oats every day. It entirely depends upon your dog’s diet and work routine it has because it’s nothing more than a bowl full of fiber and protein.

Should I stop feeding my dog other of its meal while I feed him oats?

Absolutely NO! Despite it being full of nutrients, it does not fulfill the demand for all kinds of nutrients required by your dog.

So if his treats suit’s him well keep oat treat as a change for him or in small portions along with his other treats

If you want to make oats as a permanent part of your dog’s diet, then start with giving in little portions and observe his activities. If the treat starts to suit, gradually increase its amount.

Conclusion
