09 Ways to get Rid of Pet Smell. “Aww! What’s that smell?” That is the first thing that comes to our mind when we walk into the house and we witness pet odor. And frankly it’s not a pleasant thing when you are around some guest or girlfriend.
The worst thing is, time by time, you won’t be able to tell if there’s any scent here or not. Also, not only your room, but the whole house will fill with it. Other animals are bearable but not the dog.
Here are 09 ways to get rid of pet odor.
1: Clean your pet bed.
2: Is wiping the floor will help to eliminate pet odor?
3: Vacuum your home regularly and well.
4: Mop rooms with Vinegar.
5: Open windows for fresh air.
6: Dry your pet hair.
7: Use perfume persistently to get rid of scent.
8: Use a steam cleaner for your carpet, Couch and bed.
9: Regularly wash your dog and use Shampoo.
1: Clean your pet bed.
If your pet has a bed (well, most owners provide one), then maybe this is the reason for the odor. Now, here is the question: why? Because pet beds carry saliva, hair, and even urine. Most of us don’t know anything about this, but it is indeed true. Also, especially when your pet went for outdoor activities with you and came back full of dirt, like mud, and it directly goes to the bed, then there is a 100% chance of a smell. And if that is the case then simply toss it into your washing machine for a wash.
Tip: wash it for two to three times just to get a new bed experience.
But that’s not it, you have to figure it out and clean the entire bed of your pet. You can also buy Odor Eliminators products.
2: Is wiping the floor will help to eliminate pet odor?
Will wiping the floor help to eliminate pet odor? And the answer is yes. If you own a pet then you know you can’t stop them poop/urinating on the floor and there is nothing you can do except clean it properly otherwise you will get a weird smell and I’m sure no one of us want that to happen in our house make sure it’s dry and you are good to go.
3: Vacuum your home regularly and well.
You have pet or not that is a good habit to vacuum your house frequently so you get a good and fresh experience on your own house but if you have pet’s then it is necessary there is no way that is good enough to get rid of animal smell also like most of us you don’t want to live in smell.
For long hair or furry dogs, you may have to sweep your house at least once a day just to make sure that there is no dirt or hair. Specially a dog with long hair will leave his hair on the carpet and vacuum a day is required.
4: Mop rooms with Vinegar.
Almost in every dish vinegar is compulsory and it will also help you to get rid of pet odor. Most of us use carpet in our homes for home décor and to be honest it is cool and nice to have these but there is a negative point too. Your dog or cat will easily fill your carpet with hair, saliva and sweat coming off from your dog’s paws or with urine and you don’t even notice that but you will know soon when it starts to smell.
But worry not, there is a cheap solution for this problem: add 1 ⁄ 4 vinegar and 3 ⁄ 4 water, mix it and your cleaning solution ready mop at least once a week to keep the smell out.
5: Open windows for fresh air.
If you are lazy like me then this solution is for you just open windows and air will do the rest. One thing you can’t do this everyware or all the time. But fresh air will help you to breathe normally for a while again this is not the permanent solution for smell.
6: Dry your pet hair.
Do you dry your pet after a bath or let it shake and walk away? Well if you let it shake and walk away then it’s not good because they are not dry and it’s a prefect for bacteria to grow. Take a towel or a dryer specially long hair dogs and make sure you dry all hairs.
7: Use perfume persistently to get rid of scent.
This should be “icing on the cake” when it comes to keeping your house fresh and smell free. You can use perfumes or scent candles to freshen the air.
You should use more perfume or candles where your pet visits most.
8: Use a steam cleaner for your carpet, Couch and bed.
This is the best way to beat odor, dirt and pet urine that lies on carpet in your room. Steam cleaning is the best tool to eliminate pet smell.
But if you need steam cleaning only once and not again then hire someone for the job.
9: Regularly wash your dog and use Shampoo.
There might be a possibility that your house is clean, your carpet and bed are too but not your pet and that’s why the whole house is covered with odor. Then take your pet for a bath, make sure the water is warm, not too much, just normal and gently shampoo your dog/cat. Hope so this will work fine and you are successful to remove the odor.
